설명

Korea's first central bank, the former Bank of Korea, was established on November 10, 1909. In December 1910, 1-won notes were issued, and in August 1911, 5-won and 10-won notes were issued. These banknotes had been used for about ten years until taken out of circulation in 1921 and vanished. The former Bank of Korea notes were produced from making only minor changes to the designs such as the title or emblem of the Dai-Ichi Bank notes. The design of the 1-won note was based on Hwahongmun Gate, located in Suwon. Gwanghwamun Gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace and Juhapnu in Changdeokgung Palace were used in the design of the 5-won note and 10-won note, respectively. To issue these banknotes, a special paper with a hidden picture was put into use.
