Introduction

The Economic Research Institute of the Bank of Korea has held the BOK International Conference every year since 2005. This conference is attended by numerous eminent scholars from Korea and abroad, as well as policymakers from international organizations and central banks around the world. The BOK International Conference has served as a traditional venue where prestigious guests exchange insights on policies and challenges and share new theories on current economic issues.

The Economic Research Institute hosts a variety of other conferences as well, as a means of facilitating academic exchange with outside research institutes and the academic world and promoting the Bank of Korea further. Depending upon their subjects, some conferences have been co-hosted with international organizations including the IMF, with other research institutes, or with external academic societies.
