Here, visitors can discover the process of printing banknotes. Korea banknotes are made from cotton paperand anti-counterfeiting materials such as security thread, fluorescent security fibers, and special ink. After the production of the printing plate, anti-counterfeiting technologies such as hologram and intaglio printing are used during the multiple printing processes. Lastly, the notes are trimmed down into final single notes. Some damaged banknotes unfit for circulation are shredded and recycled to form, for example, building components.
